Security Best Practices
Follow these practices to keep your exchanges safe.
Before You Exchange
- —Verify the URL — Always ensure you're on the official Ghost Exchange domain
- —Use a VPN or Tor — For additional network-level privacy
- —Use a dedicated browser — Minimize tracking from extensions and cookies
During the Exchange
- —Double-check addresses — Verify every character of your destination address. Copy-paste, don't type manually. Some malware replaces clipboard addresses.
- —Send the exact amount — Avoid over/under-sending
- —Save your order details — Screenshot or note the order page in case you need to contact support
Wallet Security
- —Use reputable wallets — Cake Wallet, Feather Wallet, or Monero GUI for XMR
- —Never share your seed phrase — No legitimate service will ever ask for it
- —Verify wallet addresses — Ensure your receiving wallet is correct before confirming
After the Exchange
- —Check the transaction — Verify receipt on a block explorer
- —Save the receipt — For your personal records
- —Clear browser data — If using a shared device
Red Flags
Ghost Exchange will never:
- —Ask for your wallet seed phrase or private keys
- —Ask you to download additional software
- —Contact you via DM on social media
- —Request remote access to your device
