How to Create Your First XMR Exchange
This guide walks you through your first swap on Ghost Exchange in under 5 minutes.
Step 1: Go to the Exchange Page
Click Start Exchange in the header or navigate to the exchange page. You'll see the swap widget with two fields: "You Send" and "You Receive."
Step 2: Choose Your Pair
Every swap involves XMR on one side:
- —XMR → BTC — Send Monero, receive Bitcoin
- —ETH → XMR — Send Ethereum, receive Monero
- —Pick from 200+ supported pairs
Use the coin selector dropdown to pick your tokens. Enter the amount you want to send.
Step 3: Select Rate Type
- —Float rate — The rate adjusts with the market until your deposit confirms. You might get more or less than estimated.
- —Fixed rate — The rate is locked when you create the order. Slightly higher fee but guaranteed output.
Step 4: Enter Destination Address
Enter the wallet address where you want to receive your exchanged tokens. Double-check this address — crypto transactions are irreversible.
Step 5: Confirm and Deposit
Review the exchange details:
- —Pair and amounts
- —Exchange rate
- —Estimated receive amount
- —Network fee
Click Confirm Exchange to generate your deposit address.
Step 6: Send Your Funds
Send the exact amount shown to the deposit address. You can scan the QR code or copy the address. The timer shows how long you have to complete the deposit.
Step 7: Wait for Confirmation
Once your deposit is detected on-chain:
1. We confirm the incoming transaction
2. XMR privacy layer processes the exchange
3. Outgoing tokens are sent to your destination address
Most exchanges complete in 5–20 minutes depending on the networks involved.
Step 8: Done!
You'll see a completion screen with the transaction hash. You can also view a receipt for your records.
